Willow, a visionary “digital twin” company announced this month that it has opened a new office in the heart of London to accommodate the growing demand for its services and solutions in the United Kingdom and European region.
Willow, who currently has offices in Sydney (HQ), Melbourne, New York, Tel Aviv and Manila, opened it’s doors at 15 Bishopsgate, a new hub for Willow to deliver Digital Engineering, Digital Architecture and innovative platform solutions.
“The United Kingdom and the European Union is a key growth geography for Willow and we are very excited about new office space that supports our expansion,” said Shaun Klann, President of North American and European Operations at Willow. “We have seen a great deal of traction with major customers in the region, particularly amongst innovative developers and owners who see the value in developing a Digital Twin of their assets.”
This expansion is anchored by strategic partnerships including Willow’s joint venture with Strukton Rail, Europe’s largest rail maintenance organisation and thyssenkrupp.
Willow has also been appointed to the prominent “TwentyTwo” Bishopsgate Project, developed by AXA and designed by PLP architecture. TwentyTwo, which is being described as a vertical community, will be a truly innovative development and one of the tallest buildings in London’s skyline.
Willow is already providing Digital Engineering services to the contractor MULTIPLEX on the project and working closely with project stakeholders towards the development of a Digital Twin.
Spearheading Willow’s work on the project is Digital Project Director, Lucas Cusack. Lucas has been involved in the advanced use of digital tools and processes, including Building Information Modelling (BIM) for over 15 years. With a background in architectural design, Lucas has since worked with some of the most innovative contractors and developers in implementing digital design and construction processes on some of London’s largest and most challenging projects.
This appointment allows Willow to strengthen its support to the growing number of customers in the region as well as leverage Lucas’s years of experience in delivering digital asset models used in FM to some of the UK’s most prominent developers.
“I’ve spent the last 6 years of my career working with developers and building owners to unlock the incredible potential in design and construction information through the use of Digital Engineering. So much so, I undertook the world’s first Masters degree in Building Information Modelling Management where I dedicated my research to helping clients understand how the utilisation of their building data can make their project a success. I’ve always strived to keep ahead of the curve and promote the best services and tools available, so when I heard of Willow and the Willow Twin I naturally wanted to be a part of it. It’s incredibly exciting to work with some of the world’s best in digital engineering and property technology at such an exciting time in our industry.”
