Willow will leverage Microsoft Azure Digital Twins to deploy their Software-as-a-Service offering for Real Estate and Infrastructure customers.
Announced at Microsoft BUILD on the 26th May 2020, Azure Digital Twins is an IoT platform that enables the creation of comprehensive digital models of entire environments to gain insights that drive better products, optimization of operations, cost reduction and breakthrough customer experiences.
Willow is leveraging its own domain expertise in Real Estate and Infrastructure on top of Azure Digital Twins’ open modeling language and live execution environment to build contextually aware solutions that enable the owners and operators of real assets to reduce their costs, improve operational efficiency and better engage their occupants.
Willow was featured in the public preview of the Azure Digital Twins release in 2018 continuing the relationship with Microsoft that has touched product design, co-marketing, and product development.
“Willow can offer something to the largest owners of Real Estate and Infrastructure that is truly unique through its relationship with Microsoft,” said Willow CEO and Co-Founder Joshua Ridley. “We are providing owners with a clear line of sight into their assets and a way to organise an ever-growing number of new point solutions”.
“Microsoft is making unparalleled investments into data centres, IoT and cyber security. It’s Willow’s job to bring that power and scalability to customers in the built world in a way that is relevant and user friendly.”
“Azure Digital Twins will offer organizations the scale, reliability, energy efficiency, compliance, security and privacy benefits that Microsoft Azure is known for. Microsoft’s focal point continues to be security and data protection, regardless of where it lives, from the cloud to the edge.”
Willow launched its latest iteration of its offering in May 2020, which will be deployed across a select number of Commercial and Corporate Real-Estate projects throughout 2020. The Willow infrastructure solution, WillowRail has been in market since 2019 and is now being deployed across railway lines in Europe and Australia.
Sam George, Corporate Vice President, Azure IoT at Microsoft said, “Azure Digital Twins allows partners such as Willow, to focus on what differentiates their business rather than having to worry about building and operating complex distributed systems architecture at scale, simplifying the process and helping you build faster. Azure Digital Twins provides a robust IoT platform to build and run domain-specific solutions economically and reliably, whether it’s buildings, factories, farms, energy networks, railways, stadiums—even entire cities.”
