Sydney (August 11, 2021) – Willow has further strengthened its Product and Engineering capability, promoting Ben Schultz, previously Vice President of Product, to the role of Chief Product Officer.
Schultz, who joined the business in 2020, has over 20 years of technology leadership, with a career characterised by scaled, complex ventures. His previous leadership roles include Oracle, close to a decade at Microsoft, Nordstrom and 4 years with .com scale-up Onvia.
“It’s an honour to step up into the role of CPO,” said Ben Schultz. “One of the reasons I joined was the strong emphasis I saw in the business on leadership values as well as the ability for every Willower to make an impact.”
“Those initial observations have been confirmed for me and I’m excited for this next phase in our growth,” continued Schultz. “One of Willow’s defining strengths in the journey so far, has been our speed to market, and the ability to innovate and prototype quickly. As the business continues to mature, where are focussing our efforts now on developing a more scalable to robust platform.”
“Across his career, Ben has led global, cross-functional teams, deploying scaled product to major institutional customers,” said Joshua Ridley, CEO and Co-Founder. “As we move into this next phase in Willow’s scale up, Ben’s experience is what our customers and partners are looking for.”
Alongside Rich Miller (CTO), Ben will be leading the scaled development and future roadmap of Willow’s product to meet the demand and requirements of Willow’s global customer base.
Willow is also welcoming Tom Rhoades as Chief Financial Officer. Tom has 20+ years of experience in the technology industry across North America, Europe, and Asia Pacific. Most recently he served as Chief Financial Officer of Data Republic after spending the previous 12 years in Finance & Strategy at Salesforce.
“At Willow, we have an incredible opportunity to become a category leader and drive insights into the built world. Though I will be focusing heavily on capital and the financial performance of the company, ultimately people are the most critical component to our journey. If we relentlessly focus on the success of our customers, partners, and employees, I believe our growth story is just getting started,” said Tom.
“We’re excited to have someone of Tom’s experience join Willow,” said CEO and Co-Founder Joshua Ridley. “Tom possesses not only experience in a scaling SaaS business but the vision and values that align with us as a company. It’s great to have him on board.”
Tom joins Willow’s Senior Leadership Team and will interact with all areas of Willow’s business, both internal and external.
