Fun Facts: When I first came to Sydney, I initially worked as a forklift driver.
What led you to Willow?
Willow had an appetite to be unique and different. There was always an ambition to challenge the status quo and be perceived as forward-thinking and innovative. When I joined Willow, it was a highly-skilled and refined architecture practice. Willow was, and still is, passionate about the built world with a clear focus on delivering quality outcomes for customers. I had the pleasure of working with some very talented architects when I first joined.
What are your skills/expertise?
I have an architectural background. For most of my career, I’ve specialised in design technology applications related to the delivery of architectural services. In my final year of University, I completed a thesis on Building Information Modelling (BIM), as I was always fascinated by how technology could influence the design of buildings and the built world in general.
I’ve also had the opportunity to be a consultant to large architectural firms which enabled me to practice thinking like an architect and focus on solving problems. A lot of my skillset and experience has been derived from the use of Autodesk software applications, and working as a BIM manager on a diverse range of projects.
What projects are you working on?
Currently, I am working on two projects for Global Switch who own data centres in Hong Kong and Sydney. We have been commissioned to provide client side Digital Engineering services for both projects. Prior to that I was working as a technology specialist as part of the Digital Engineering framework panel for Transport for New South Wales (TfNSW). I have also been working on the Sovereign Resort Expansion Project, in particular on the coordination of our architectural finishes against the structure and other building services.

What do you see as the biggest opportunities in Australia?
I’ve always believed that Digital Engineering should be a value-adding proposition to complement and strengthen our architectural services. We are always taking customers on a journey with the services that we offer. Without even realising sometimes, we are constantly educating our customers about the benefits of having better processes, understanding their data better and how to use 3D models in a more intelligent matter. I’ve always believed that architecture is, and should remain, a fundamental part of our business, as it is a discipline that continually evolves. Having the benefits of our own software that supports our services should prove to be a strong advantage for the business against our competition.
